Ysgol Eco - Eco SchoolMae'r Cyngor Eco wedi penderfynu cynnal 'Mercher Amdani' bob Dydd Mercher am weddill y tymor. Bwriad y diwrnod ydi annog pawb i arbed tanwydd ffosiledig. Rydem yn sylweddoli na all bawb gerdded i'r ysgol, ond byddwn yn hoffi gweld rhieni a phlant yn trio gwneud rhai o'r rhain:
- Cerdded i'r ysgol os ydech yn byw wrth ymyl - Beicio i'r ysgol - Rhannu ceir gyda phlant eraill - Parcio a cherdded (parcio rhywle agos at yr ysgol ee. yn y pentref ac yna cerdded y gweddill) Rydym yn gobeithio y gallwch ymuno gyda ni Dydd Mercher i ddathlu ein 'Mercher Amdani' cyntaf! The eco club have decided to hold a ‘wheely Wednesday’ every Wednesday for the rest of this term. The aim of this day is to encourage everyone to save fossil fuels. We know that it is not possible for everyone to walk to school, but we would love to see parents and children trying to do any of the following: - Walking to school if you live nearby - Cycling to school - Car sharing with other children - Park and stride (park somewhere near the school, e.g. in the village, and walk the rest of the way). We hope you can join us this Wednesday in celebrating our first ‘wheely Wednesday’! Llongyfarchiadau mawr i'r Cyngor Eco ar ennill y wobr Baner Werdd Platinwm. Dipyn o gamp! Diolch i bawb am ei gwaith caled, ac yn enwedig Mrs Catrin Evans.
Congratulations to the Eco Council for gaining the Platinum Eco School Award. A fair achievement! Thank you all for your hard work, and a special thanks to Mrs Catrin Evans for her work to make it possible. Fel ysgol, rydym yn falch o fod wedi ennill y Faner Gwrdd Ysgol Eco ym Mawrth 2009 ac 2011 o dan arweiniad ein eco-bwyllgor yr ysgol, sy'n cynnwys disgyblion o bob oed a dosbarthiadau.
As a school we are proud to have gained the eco-school Green Flag award in March 2009 and 2011 under the guidance of our eco-school committee, which includes pupils from all ages and classes. |
Diwrnod Masnach Deg - Fair-trade Week
This week, our children have been learning about fair-trade and what products carry the fair-trade logo. On Wednesday, each class did a short presentation about their chosen fair-trade product. Each class also made something using their fair-trade products.
The children then tried the different foods and drinks themselves which included; Chocolate Brownies, Banana Curry and Fair-trade rice, a Tea Bara Brith, Banana Flapjacks, Banana Smoothies and a cup of tea.
The children responded really well and we had a great afternoon. The highlight of the afternoon was seeing the children sitting back, enjoying their cups of tea!

Mae ein dosbarthiadau CA2 yn derbyn cyflwyniad yr wythnos hon gan y grŵp Ysgol Eco am fforestydd glaw a'r hyn sy'n digwydd iddynt o ran datgoedwigo. Roedd y plant wedi mwynhau cymryd rhan ac wedi dysgu llawer am yr hyn y gallant ei wneud i helpu. Ar ôl y cyflwyniad ein Hysgol Eco wedi penderfynu codi arian ar gyfer 'Maint Cymru' sy'n codi arian i achub coedwigoedd glaw. Gallwch ymweld â'u tudalen Facebook drwy glicio ar y ddolen isod.
Er mwyn codi arian, bydd ein Hysgol Eco yn creu coedwig o goed yn yr ysgol a byddant yn cynnwys pob boncyff coeden gyda darnau arian newid mân. Bydd yr holl arian a gesglir yn mynd i 'Maint Cymru' lle mae pob £ 1 a godir yn arbed ardal maes rygbi faint o fforest law. Felly, yn edrych i lawr cefn y soffa ac yn dechrau dod yn y darnau arian copr sbâr! Cliciwch Yma i weld ein tudalen Ysgol Eco |
Our KS2 classes received a presentation this week from the Eco School group about rainforests and what is happening to them regarding deforestation. The children really enjoyed taking part and learnt a lot about what they can do to help. After the presentation our Eco School have decided to raise money for 'Size of Wales' who raise money to save rainforests. You can visit their Facebook page by clicking on the link below.
In order to raise money, our Eco School will be creating a forest of trees in school and they will be covering each tree trunk with small change coins. All the money collected will go to 'Size of Wales' where every £1 raised saves a rugby field sized area of rainforest. So look down the back of the couch and start bringing in those spare copper coins! Diolch i bawb a ddaeth yn eu ceiniogau a newid bach i gefnogi ein 'Maint Cymru' apêl. Rydym yn llwyddo i godi o bunnoedd parchus iawn £78 sydd yn ddigon i cadw 78 ardal cae rygbi faint o fforest law.
Thank you to everyone who brought in their coppers and small change to support our 'Size of Wales' appeal. We managed to raise a very respectable £78 pounds which is enough to save 78 rugby pitch sized areas of rainforest.
